About Toni

Toni L. Kamins is a writer, editor, and communications consultant. As a writer she has covered a wide range of subjects for publications such as the New York Times, New York Magazine, the Los Angeles Times, the New York Daily News, the New York Post, Investors Business Daily, the Village Voice, the Jerusalem Post, and the Forward. Toni is also the creator and author of the "Complete Jewish Guide to France" and the "Complete Jewish Guide to Britain and Ireland" (St. Martin’s Press).

An important part of Toni’s work is as a writer and communications consultant for non-profit, cultural, educational, and economic development organizations including New York City’s Greenwich House, the Greater Jamaica Development Corporation, and the French Government Tourist Office, which awarded her their Gold Medal in 2005.

Born and raised in New York City, Toni earned an undergraduate degree in modern European history from Hunter College and then went on to graduate study in political science and international relations at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY) and the Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po) in Paris, France.

Following graduate school Toni went to work in book publishing, and from there it was but a short step to her first true love…writing.

Toni’s dynamic interest in a whole host of subjects from the practical to the esoteric informs her work. Whether it’s experiences from her many travels, her expertise in computer technology and digital communication, her familiarity with health care, consumer affairs, and social issues, or observations of the seemingly mundane, she uses her broad base of knowledge and understanding along with her deft research skills to craft articles, brochures, annual reports, web content and communications material that hit the mark every time.

Toni’s first two books, the "Complete Jewish Guide to France" and "the Complete Jewish Guide to Britain and Ireland" grew out of two of her passions...history and travel. She was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to communicate this enthusiasm not only to her readers, but to an even wider audience all over the United States when she undertook an extensive lecture tour to promote her books and the human interest stories and little-known information contained in them.

A resident of New York City, Toni prides herself on being comfortable in many other places around the United States and around the world. Traveling for business or for pleasure, and living and working in other places just adds to her understanding of people, cultures, and different sensibilities. And it makes her a very valuable asset to those with whom she works.
